Do I get voicemail with my Freshtel MobileLink service?
No, you do not get voicemail with your Freshtel MobileLink account. You will use your existing voicemail box as provided by your mobile network operator.
Can I call premium rate numbers?
Yes, you can. Please visit our rates page for details of our call charges.
Can I put a stop on calls to premium rate numbers?
No this is not currently available.
Can I redirect calls to a mobile phone or another number?
No, you cannot redirect your calls to another number. However if you have redirected your number to another phone number on your mobile/GSM line, any paid calls made to you through Freshtel will be redirected appropriately.
Can I use my Freshtel MobileLink service to call an emergency number?
You will not be able to use your Freshtel MobileLink service to make calls to the emergency services. The default handset option is to route all emergency calls automatically route your mobile/GSM network and not via the internet.
How do I add contacts to my phone list?
Freshtel MobileLink uses the contacts you have entered into your phone’s address book. To add/delete/modify your contacts you have to use the phone’s standard address book functionality (this is to avoid the management of two address books). When the Freshtel MobileLink contact list is viewed, it will display the latest address book including any recent modifications.
Note: Only contacts that are stored on the phone will be used within the Freshtel MobileLink application. Any SIM contacts will not be shown.
Can I send SMS text messages with my Freshtel MobileLink service?
We have a handy Conversation view in the Freshtel MobileLink application under the Messages option. This view allows you to easily see all instant messages (see Instant Messaging section for more detail) and SMS text messages sent between you and any contact in a complete scrollable list.
Although we believe this view will improve your messaging experience, any SMS text sent via the Freshtel MobileLink application or via your handsets standard functionality will not be sent via Freshtel. All SMS messages will be sent via your existing mobile/GSM network and charged at your network operators SMS rates.
When sending a text message via the Freshtel MobileLink application on your handset, if the contact presence status is Online a free instant message can be sent via the Freshtel MobileLink service, otherwise a paid SMS is sent via your mobile/GSM network as explained above.
What happens if I run out of credit in the middle of a call?
You will be cut off immediately once your credit runs out so remember to always ensure you have sufficient credit available. Why not take advantage of one of our top-up bonus offers?
I want to call a friend who is also a Freshtel customer. How much will it cost?
Calls to other Freshtel users are free if both you and the person receiving the call are Online. (See the Presence section for more details) There’s no time limit so you can chat for as long as you like without it costing a cent!
