Instant Messaging

What is instant messaging?

Instant messaging is a presence enabled messaging service that enables the user to send and receive an instant text based message for FREE using their mobile phone (supported handset only) over the Freshtel MobileLink network.

How can I send Instant messages for free?

You can only send a free message when you and the message recipient are Online (see the Presence section for more details). For Freshtel MobileLink customers this means that you both must be within coverage and connected to Wi-Fi.

The instant message must be sent from the Messages function found within the Freshtel MobileLink application, otherwise standard SMS rates will apply.

Can I send pictures via instant messaging?

No, unfortunately you cannot send pictures via the Freshtel MobileLink instant messaging service at this time.

Is there a limit to the number of instant messages that I can send within my Call Plan?

No, instant messaging is a FREE service available to all Freshtel MobileLink customers and is unlimited.
